Delete your Finley account

This page explains how to delete your Finley account and what happens to your data when you do. Finley is operated by Finley GmbH (Berlin, Germany).

Delete from inside the app

The fastest way to delete your account is from within the Finley mobile app on iOS or Android:

  1. Open the Finley app and sign in.
  2. Tap the Profile tab.
  3. Scroll to the Danger Zone section at the bottom.
  4. Tap Delete account.
  5. Confirm in the dialog that appears.

The deletion runs immediately. You will be signed out and your account, financial data, and conversation history will be removed.

Delete by email

If you cannot access the app — for example, because you have already uninstalled it — you can request deletion by email:

  1. Send an email to privacy@joinfinley.com from the email address associated with your account.
  2. Use the subject line "Account deletion request".
  3. We will verify your identity by replying from privacy@joinfinley.com and asking you to confirm.

We will complete the deletion within 30 days of confirming your identity.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we remove the following data:

  • Your account profile: name, email address, and language preference.
  • Linked bank connections, accounts, and transaction history, including the records held by our bank-connectivity provider on your behalf.
  • Conversations with the Finley AI assistant, including any voice messages you recorded.
  • Budgets, savings goals, and any crypto wallet addresses you saved in the app.
  • Device identifiers and push notification tokens linked to your account.

What we may keep, and for how long

In a small number of cases we are legally required to retain limited data:

  • Anonymous diagnostic logs may be retained briefly for security and fraud-prevention purposes.
  • Where German tax or accounting law requires it (for example, records of a paid transaction), specific records may be retained for the statutory period — usually up to 10 years.

Data retained for these reasons is held only to the extent and for the time required by law, and is not used for any other purpose.
